4 Ways to Lose Belly Fat

When you are overweight, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are unhealthy. Likewise, being slim doesn’t mean that you are healthy and all good. It all depends on several factors. One of those is how spread out your fat is and how much is around your middle. So if you have a lot of fat around your stomach but little anywhere else, it could lead to problems.

A good way to check is to measure around your waist (over the belly button) and then measure around your hips. If the waist measurement is bigger, then you should take steps to reduce it. Here are a few ways that could work for you, to lose the fat around your belly.

Avoid Eating Sugar
Sugar is extremely unhealthy and needs to be avoided. We all like sweet things but there are healthier ways than refined sugar. Think about using dates or coconut sugar in baking. These are natural sweeteners that are good for you. When you eat a lot of unnatural sugar, your liver and the rest of your body, can’t cope with it all and stores it into fat.

It also gives you a short-lived energy boost and then you get a tired slump. You will feel much better and more energised if you stop eating refined sugar. Be sure to check labels on food though as a lot will contain sugar, even when you think they’re quite healthy. You should also avoid sugary drinks like the plague! Drinking all the extra calories and sugar is just a waste and it is so bad for you. Don’t go for drinks that have ‘no added sugar’ either. Sweeteners, although lower in calories, aren’t good for you either. Sad day. But it is true.

Facts are facts, though, and the bottom line is that eating too much sugar is a big contributor to gathering fat. Particularly around your stomach.

Eat Plenty of High Fibre Foods
To start with, a stomach looks less bloated if you have a diet high in fibre. It will regulate your digestive system and boost your metabolism. You can get more fibre into your diet by eating foods like vegetables and fruit. Legumes are a great source as well as things like oats.

If you have tried a lot of options and nothing is working for you, then surgery might be an option. There are a few options available, including procedures like a tummy tuck or liposuction. Do your research and see what is best for you. Read up about the procedures and about the surgeons, like liposuction surgeon Dr. Grawe.

Aerobic Exercise
We all should be exercising every day; at least 30 minutes is the ideal. The best way to lose belly fat through exercise is through aerobic exercise. So think about how you could walk more, swim or even jog. Exercise is so efficient at helping to lose body fat. For the best results, it should be in conjunction with a healthy diet of course, though.
