Make Your Bedroom Comfortable And Cozy For The Winter

Have you noticed how all of a sudden there is a slight chill in the air? We might not like it, but winter is most definitely on the way. For me, on a cold winter’s evening, there is nothing nicer than getting home and snuggling up with a good book in a cozy bedroom.

With that in mind, I recently decided that before the cold weather hits, I am going to give my room a bit of a makeover. I want to create a space that is as warm and cozy as possible so that I can spend my evenings snuggled up in there. Well, once the kids have gone to bed, that is.

If you like the idea of making your bedroom cozier and more comfortable, here’s what you need to do:

Keep it simple

In terms of decor for a cozy bedroom, the key is to keep it as simple as possible. Have you ever stayed in a luxurious hotel bedroom but couldn’t quite put your finger on what made the room so amazing? The answer: because it was a plain space. All the best hotels with the coziest bedrooms opt for simple decor, adding color via accessories.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that white is a cold color, but it doesn’t have to be. In a bedroom, white works amazingly well to create a beautifully cozy-looking space. Well, if it’s mixed with some subtle patterns, that is.

Add pattern

When it comes to adding pattern to your bedroom, the best way to do it is with textiles. By popping a patterned throw onto your bed or swapping your curtains for a pair printed ones, you can instantly change the look and feel of the room.

Other ways to add pattern are with accessories like stylish cushions, lamps, and rugs. Remember, while mixing and matching a couple of designs can work well, if you add too much pattern, you can make the space look overcrowded.

Make your bed the focal point

In a bedroom, the bed should always be the focal point of the room. Luckily, making your bed stand out from everything else isn’t too difficult. Simply by adding a stylish throw and a few scatter cushions, you can make your bed stand out.

Make your bed super comfortable

When it comes to making your bed as comfortable as possible, there are lots of simple things you can do. If your mattress isn’t as comfy as it used to be, you could replace it with a new one. Or, if a new mattress isn’t in your budget, you could invest in a mattress topper instead. Another thing that you could do to make your bed more comfortable is swap to having an adjustable mattress base - these make a great investment.

Something else that I cannot wait to get to make my bed more cozy is a faux fur throw. I absolutely, love these, and as they are one of this seasons in pieces of home decor, there are lots of designs to choose from.

If you follow these tips, you will find that making your bedroom comfortable and cozy is much easier that you would think.
