Safety Checks for Your CV Joints

Car lovers and car owners put a lot of effort in taking care of their cars. They know exactly when something needs to be repaired or replaced in their car parts. Aside from the usual car safety checklist that you do when you’re about to drive, there are also regular check-ups and tune-up that needs to be accomplished to ensure that your car is at its optimal standings. Most modern car today is fitted with constant velocity or CV joint that adjust to the roads it will take.

A CV joint repair is needed when your car’s CV wears out. There are no cases of its total breakdown, thus you have ample time to find a replacement while your car is still in good running condition. You will need your CV specs for CV joint repair.

Joint failure in cars may actually be due to two things – bad greasing habits and loss of lubrication. Worn out CV joint maybe noticed when you hear clicking sounds as you turn while you drive.

To check whether you really need a replacement, simply put your car in reverse and drive a circle backwards. Loud clicking sounds similar to a sheet metal fabrication sound will confirm this. You can ask your repair shop to check on your CV while you avail of their other services such as wheel realignment or canvas printing on your next regular maintenance checks. And if you live in a place where the weather is freezing a home insulation is a must!
